Obviously, the solution for such a dilemma is for the leaders of the company to be able to listen clearly to the problems being expressed by employees. It is not only in the Bible that we find many examples of the best leaders being the best listeners, but let us please stick to this reference in order for us to expound our point of Jesus being the greatest leader there is. The three most common leadership styles are transformational leadership, team leadership, and the situational leadership.
Perhaps what we can most notice in the totality of our paper is that according to the Bible, and specifically the life of Jesus, most of the modern models of leadership at the ready they found in various situations and actions made throughout the old and New Testament (Nouwen, 1993). It is not a big surprise to discover this, for indeed the leadership models which are popular today are also derived from the leadership models can be found in the Bible.
The integral difference of what had been in the past and the present is that most of the leadership models of today focus primarily on gaining profit and not on the integration and facilitation of values(Stott, 2006). What is most praised among these three leadership models is a transformational model leadership, which states and gives emphasis on the sharing of the leader with his vision with his followers. However, although this is the actual model that is most praised by many, the practice remains to be unquestionable.
What one would often a service at what is actually most practiced is the situational model leadership, and more often the situations would range from no help at all to the employees for even go far as to be a state where in leaders look only after themselves (Cavanagh, 2005). This is the kind of value systems that we are most acquainted with and are actually most practiced in. However, as we have shown in the various discussions of characters in the Bible as well as by the leadership style that had been taught by Jesus himself, having potential and maximum gain does not list I really mean being the most effective leader.
We only need to look back at that era inhabit compared with our time, and realize that most of the leaders of that point in history have already been forgotten either because of discrepancies in history, the lack of documents, or the simple efficiency of their regimes. What had remained, however, were the actions of Jesus, well documented by his apostles as a reflection of true leadership(Bass, 2005). In the modern age where there are many arguments regarding what may be the true model of leadership that will transcend everything else, a substantial answer to that argument is that perhaps we are actually looking at the wrong question.
Perhaps there can be no universal model, rather we could only try to achieve the leadership style that Jesus had reflected in the various actions to the point of death. Also, at this point where we are nearing a conclusion, we ask ourselves whether there is still any room for ethics in FCMG companies. Some may say that this question is redundant for there is already an answer to such a statement, and that is of course there is. However, again we would like to point out that what people say does not necessarily mean it is what they do.
Many consider the operations of companies and managers to be a winner takes all situation, or even that winner is the right situation. Many may think that such is an advantage in among companies where there is high respect for a few number of managers (Newcomen Society, 1957). However, it is merely a sure threat analysisthis is merely a short-term analysis of the situation, for surely, in the long run, for an FCMG company to be truly efficient, it must be able to integrate within its leaders and with its managers various ethical considerations and ethical teachings.
Not doing so would most likely have the effect of being affected in the short term but meeting the shutdown point early in the long. Successful leadership, therefore, especially in a FCMG company might at first look as if that the focus is on profit and utility maximization by the individuals and those in power. However, as we have already fully argued toward the length of our paper, the example of Jesus ais the perfect leader would fit our model in reality actually even fit any other kind of model.
Remember that we are not looking towards the word successful in the sense of shortsighted definitions. However, our running definition of successful would be long-term efficiency and productivity for managers and employees, as well as the achievement of the values that have been advertised by the company in the first place in their value system. With this definition in mind, the writer of this paper would be so strong as to say that for an FCMG company, the ideal form of leadership would actually be exactly the same as that had been proposed and made by Jesus himself.
Not just for our specific example of a company, even, for in all organizations with a value system that they preach to practice but do not actually do so, perhaps it would be wise for them to look at the example of what Jesus had given (Hacker, 200). To conclude, many of the companies of todays modern world need leaders closer to the example of that which is given by Jesus and those that are expounded within the Gospels and the Bible.
If we are truly to run a modern market with value oriented leadership and value oriented results, then perhaps the best advice would be to follow the leadership style of Jesus, perhaps the single greatest leader that has ever existed. And because of their age and quality that we are going on now in our present world were in there is aWith the decreasing number exemplars of value-oriented leadership, it was is also perhaps be bettergood to look at these teachings which are centuries old, but could still very well be applied to the modern setting.
