He offers government reforms such as modernization of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, bringing accountability to underperforming schools, and strengthening the American forces in pursuit of triumph over the extremists to preserve, protect, and enhance the lives of US citizens. John McCain is the man who could provide the nation with these services with all of his skills, knowledge, and virtue. John McCain.
A successor of his fathers and grandfathers legacy, John McCain is a knowledgeable and conservative leader who is ready to lead the American nation to stability and sustainable development. McCain, a republican, is a dexterous leader who has broad knowledge and eminent skills from the experiences he acquired from being a Naval Aviator up to presently being a great US Senator. In 1958, he graduated from the naval academy and become a naval aviator for the United States Navy.
He undoubtedly served the country without any reservations as he experienced plenty of near-death experiences and became a prisoner of war for six years during his service in the Vietnam War. Among the awards he received were the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Legion of Merit, Purple Heart, and Distinguished Flying Cross for his exceptional courage and undying love for the country (Washington Post, 2007). In 1982, John McCain was elected to Congress to represent the first congressional district of Arizona.
After the Arizona Senator Barry Goldwaters retirement, McCain was elected to the United States Senate in 1986. Americans should vote for John McCain for the reasons that he is the only experienced conservative leader who will unite the people with his stance in strong national defense, a smaller, more accountable government, economic growth and opportunity, the dignity of life and traditional values (Why John McCain, 2007). McCain is notable for his deep value for duty, honor, and service of country.
It is reflected on his position on the recent issues that plague the country. His remarkable value for national defense is seen in his vote to use military force in Iraq, being a threat to Americas security. During his stay in the House of Representatives as a Congressman of Arizona in 1982, he led a fight for strengthening the US armed forces to upgrade national defense. His position against abortion rights manifests how much he values life and morals. He also passed through Congress an anti-torture bill to protect civilian rights (Nader, 2006).
McCain supported the marriages definition as the union of opposite sex and contested the constitutional amendment which bans same sex marriages and suggests individual states to decide on the issue. He co-sponsored immigration reform legislation which could improve border security technology and provide a legal course to citizenship for various illegal immigrants. John McCain also encourages the plan that allows diversion of some Social Security payroll taxes to private retirement accounts of workers.
This is to promote and ensure American workers welfare and benefits. McCains excellent qualities and great capabilities did not remain unnoticed to the public and even from different political parties. Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman, a democrat, endorsed him for the US presidency also noting McCain as being the most capable man to unite the country (CNN, 2007). Liebermans remark is very evident since John McCain is the most experienced, trustworthy, and competent candidate for the presidency of the United States.
The Union Leader publisher Joseph McQuaid also gave support to his candidacy referring to McCain as the most conservative candidate running for president in the 2008 elections (Schneider, 2007). Also included among McCains platforms are strengthening national security to achieve victory over Islamic extremists, reforming health care for every American citizen, and promoting a reform for the American government (johnmccain. com, 2007). The United States national security is at stake on whoever wins as the president.
Currently, the America is facing a dangerous situation because of its persistent enemies, the radical Islamic extremists. John McCain will search for every opportunity to strengthen the American forces in pursuit of triumph over these extremists. He will promote security and stability to the nation, decreasing the risks that could harm the people of the United States. McCain will lead the Unite States and its global allies into global harmonization as a Commander-in-chief from day one. Reforming health care for Americans is a very vital need for the American society.
Americas health care system is in great need to be reformed and modernized to control the competition that could promote more affordable insurance options for the Americans. John McCain will make available greater transparency on effective patient care, selections for preventative care and therapies, and prices leading to quality and low cost for a national market. Most of all, the United States of America requires a government reform. Americans have lost their faith on their own government, having doubt on their government officials whether they will serve on the nations interest alone and not their own (Issues Focus, 2007).
The fact that government spending has been out-of-control is a manifestation of the dominion of special interests of elected officials being the most influential in Washington. John McCain will harness government spending and regulate the government budget while keeping the taxes low. Modernization of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid and bringing accountability to underperforming schools are the solutions that McCain is ready to sponsor to enhance the current US government situation.
He considers these factors as the primary component in building a stable nation for the present as well as the succeeding generation. Among McCains specific objectives are the McCain Tax Cut Plan, control on government spending, lower taxes, health system reform, lobbying and ethics reform, a strategy to achieve victory in Iraq, border security and immigration reform, strengthening the national security, commitment to American service members, protecting second amendment rights, and environmental preservation through responsible stewardship (johnmccain.com, 2007).
With these bold solutions, John McCain dares to conquer the poor side of Americas socio-political system that has caused different aspects of American society to be ill. His platforms aim to reconstruct and repair the US political system that has been in constant crisis due to impulsive political devotion that has become toxic and has caused delay on the several things that is in great need to be done. These things that are needed to be promptly addressed are what the McCain administration will concentrate on, in case of his victory.
McCain chooses to take advantage of his knowledge and experience to address the nations crisis. His skills are enough to deal with the threats to the national security because of his courageous service that is deeply rooted from the values he derived from his father and grandfather (both distinguished navy admirals). His notable skill on leadership can help the country, if not fully eliminate, stop the terrorist activities plotted against the United States of America. It takes a free man to lead the land of the free.
It is important to elect a man free from reservations and special interests when it comes to the welfare of the citizens of the United States. John McCain is an upright leader who could offer the people transparency, competent service, and loyalty when it comes to national affairs and every aspect of his leadership. He is the most suitable man who has the ability to bring back the true sense of the USA being a united state. Preserving, protecting, and enhancing the lives of US citizens are the primary objective of a US president.
John McCain is the man who could provide the nation these services with all of his skills, knowledge, and virtue.
